Warranty

Drive away protected. Statutory warranty where it applies, and extended warranty options through National Warranty Company to suit most budgets.

Statutory warranty

Every car we sell that is no longer covered by its factory warranty comes with Queensland statutory warranty. How long it lasts depends on the car’s age and kilometres when you buy it:

Warranty Applies to Covers you for
Class A Under 160,000 km and built within the last 10 years 3 months or 5,000 km, whichever comes first
Class B 160,000 km or more, or built more than 10 years ago 1 month or 1,000 km, whichever comes first

Statutory warranty covers defects where a part doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, or has worn so much that it no longer works. Some items are excluded by law, including tyres, batteries, most lights, filters, paintwork and upholstery, and air conditioning on Class B cars.

Extended warranty

For protection beyond statutory warranty, we offer extended warranty plans through National Warranty Company, an Australian warranty provider operating since 1999. There are different plans to suit most budgets, designed to protect you against unexpected repair costs.

Ask us which plans are available for the car you’re interested in.

Why consider an extended warranty?

  • Statutory warranty is short. It lasts at most 3 months or 5,000 km, and only 1 month or 1,000 km for cars over 10 years old or with 160,000 km or more.
  • Repairs can be expensive. Modern cars rely on complex engines, transmissions, turbochargers and electronics. A single major component failure can cost thousands of dollars to fix.
  • Predictable costs. A plan turns an unexpected repair bill into a known cost you can budget for.
  • Longer protection. Plans are available for longer terms than statutory warranty, so you stay covered well after you drive away.
  • Extras on some plans. Depending on the plan, benefits such as 24/7 roadside assistance may be included.

Good to know

  • An extended warranty is optional. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees, apply regardless of any warranty you buy.
  • Each plan has its own terms, claim limits and exclusions. Read the terms and conditions and the Product Disclosure Statement before you decide.
