Meet the Team

Alex has been around cars and dealerships his whole life. Born in the UK, he started out washing and detailing cars before moving straight into sales.

Looking for a change of lifestyle, Alex moved to Australia and worked across several dealerships, selling everything from Toyotas to Range Rovers. He later stepped away from the long dealer hours to run a pest control business, but the pull of cars was too strong. He returned to selling used cars and spent the next decade building toward where he is today, including a fun and successful run as co-owner of Kingswood Cars with a close friend.

Through all of it, one idea kept coming back: to build something truly unique. Alex created Mussons Garage to do things differently from the traditional car dealer world. It has a seamless buying process, a hand-picked collection, and a team that’s just as passionate about cars as its clients. Today he runs the Studio alongside his son Kyle.

Away from work, Alex’s need for speed shows up everywhere. He has raced his Toyota GR Yaris and Honda Civic Type R across multiple racing classes. His personal fleet includes:

• A 800hp 2021 BMW M3
• A modified 2018 Nissan GT-R R35
• A Barra-swapped 2009 Nissan Patrol
• A modified 2026 Toyota HiLux
• Two race cars
• A 2006 BMW M3 E46, currently under restoration

For Alex, Mussons Garage is the result of a lifetime in the car world: a place where every car is hand-selected, every client is looked after properly, and the passion behind it is real.

Chris brings a background in customer service and automotive management that few in the car world can match. His career began in golf, where he trained through the PGA’s International Golf Institute. From there he moved into hospitality with some of the world’s biggest hotel groups, including Accor and Marriott International. Those years taught him what first-class service really looks like, and he has carried that standard into everything since.

Chris then moved into the motor industry and worked his way through almost every side of the business with Pickering Automotive Group on the Gold Coast. He worked as Fleet Manager, then as New Car Manager across the MG and GWM brands, before taking the reins at Pickering Luxury Garage. There he managed a collection of supercars, sports cars, prestige SUVs and classics.

That mix of new-car, fleet, luxury and pre-owned experience means Chris understands cars and clients from every angle, whether that’s sourcing the right car, structuring a deal or making sure the handover is something to remember.

At Mussons Garage, Chris oversees the day-to-day running of the Studio. He works alongside Alex on buying, sales, valuations and client relationships, and makes sure every client gets a smooth, seamless experience, whether they’re local or buying from the other side of the country.

For Chris, Mussons Garage is the chance to combine everything he’s learned in luxury service and the motor industry into something more personal: genuine cars, genuine people, and a buying experience done properly.

Cars and anything mechanical have always been a big part of Kyle’s life. He’s the type who wants to know how something works, why it isn’t working properly, and how it can be made better.

Kyle has spent most of his working life around cars, working on everything from everyday vehicles to European and high-end cars. Over the years he’s built a strong interest in diagnostics, mechanical repairs, modifications and custom builds, and he notices the little things most people would miss.

Outside of work, Kyle is usually still doing something involving an engine. He’s into 4WDs, modified cars, motocross, motorbikes, camping and motorsport. For Kyle, the automotive world isn’t just a job. It’s what he’d be doing anyway.

As Alex’s son, Kyle shares the vision behind Mussons Garage: turning a lifelong passion into a business and brand that feels genuine, does things properly and has real personality, rather than being just another workshop.

At Mussons Garage, Kyle looks after the mechanical side, including repairs, servicing, diagnostics, modifications and builds, along with the day-to-day running of the workshop. He’s particular about workmanship and makes sure every job is done properly, whether it’s a simple repair or a full build.

For Kyle, Mussons Garage is about building something long-term around cars, quality workmanship and a community of people who are just as obsessed with them as the team is.

Guy brings a background unlike anyone else’s in the car world. Before his career moved into cars, he was one of Australia’s best-known surf Ironmen. He won the Uncle Tobys Ironman Series three times and the Australian Ironman title. That same competitive drive has carried into everything he’s done since.

Guy’s love of driving took him from the beach to the track and behind the camera. He drove in the Warner Bros. Hollywood Stunt Driver show at Movie World, and as a graded stunt performer he worked on Mad Max: Fury Road and Furiosa. He has also raced across several categories, including a class podium at Bathurst, and spent years as a driver training instructor at Norwell Motorplex, coaching drivers of all levels.

Guy knows cars from the driver’s seat, and he knows how to tell a story about them. He also built his own automotive YouTube channel, reviewing cars and covering the latest motorsport news. He’s comfortable in front of the camera and behind it.

At Mussons Garage, Guy looks after everything online, including social media, video, photography and content creation. He’s the one showing the Studio’s collection to buyers right around Australia, so every car is presented the way it deserves and interstate clients can buy with confidence.

For Guy, Mussons Garage combines his two passions: cars, and sharing the excitement of them with people who love them just as much.
